SRINAGAR: The Union Authorities has initiated a nationwide effort to coach schoolteachers in Synthetic Intelligence and Computational Considering because it prepares to introduce an AI-integrated CBSE curriculum from the 2026–27 tutorial 12 months, in response to an official response tabled within the Rajya Sabha on December 10.
The Ministry of Schooling said that the Nationwide Schooling Coverage 2020 and the Nationwide Curriculum Framework for College Schooling 2023 mandate the inclusion of Computational Considering, Synthetic Intelligence, Coding, Machine Studying and Knowledge Science in class training, with NCERT’s new textbooks for lessons 3 to eight already embedding computational pondering throughout topics.
The Ministry mentioned NCERT has begun coaching academics to develop digital studying assets, together with video-based supplies and on-line modules, to familiarise them with AI and CT ideas. It added that these efforts are a part of a structured strategy to arrange colleges for the revised curriculum.
A significant part of the coaching plan is the newly launched SOAR (Skilling for AI Readiness) initiative, geared toward constructing AI consciousness and foundational competencies amongst college students of lessons 6 to 12 and bettering AI literacy amongst educators. The programme contains 4 Nationwide Expertise Qualification Framework-aligned modules and gives three micro-credentials for college students — AI to be Conscious, AI to Purchase, and AI to Aspire — every of 15 hours.
For academics, a devoted 45-hour module titled AI for Educators gives coaching in AI ideas, pedagogy and classroom utility. The Ministry mentioned State and Union Territory administrations have been requested to boost consciousness about SOAR and encourage colleges to conduct capacity-building workshops.
The Authorities mentioned the framework is meant to bridge the digital divide, guarantee equitable entry to AI training and help the nationwide objective of making ready a future-ready workforce beneath the Viksit Bharat 2047 imaginative and prescient.
