Mike Gesicki: Week 14 Start/Sit Fantasy Football Guidance

The 4-8 Cincinnati Bengals head to Orchard Park this Sunday to face the 8-4 Buffalo Bills as 5.5-point underdogs. The Bengals sorda, kinda still have a shot at making the playoffs, but the odds are long. Getting Joe Burrow back is of course a big windfall as they try to make some hay late in the season.

A key element of the Bengals’ offense is WR Tee Higgins, who missed last week due to a concussion. He was able to practice on Wednesday in a limited fashion, but it’s a good sign he’ll be cleared ahead of Sunday. If he returns, it does take a big chunk of targets from other possible fantasy plays, including Mike Gesicki’s.

Below, we’ll go over Mike Gesicki’s outlook in fantasy football for Week 14.

Fantasy Football analysis: Bengals, TE, Mike Gesicki

Gesicki returned two weeks ago from I.R. and caught 4-of-6 targets for 35 yards against the Patriots. Then last week he caught 2-of-4 targets for 19 yards against the Ravens. In his second game he actually saw fewer snaps than his first game back. This is the trouble with the Bengals tight ends, you can’t rely on consistent work. In the past, no Higgins was almost an automatic big game for Gesicki, but not last week. And now he gets the Bills, who have allowed the fewest fantasy points to tight ends in the league. So, even if Higgins were to miss this week, I’d still be wary of starting Gesicki.
