Michigan has misplaced its second participant from the 2026 class due to the scandal surrounding the firing of disgraced former Michigan head soccer coach Sherrone Moore.
Offensive lineman Bear McWhorter, who signed on Dec. 3 as a part of the upcoming freshman class, introduced Friday on social media he’s opening his recruitment.
“In mild of current occasions, I’ve made the very troublesome determination to withdraw my NLI,” McWhorter wrote. “I’m grateful to the employees at UM for every little thing they’ve carried out.”
Moore was fired Wednesday after two seasons as head coach for what athletic director Warde Manuel in a press release known as “an inappropriate relationship with a employees member.”
Biff Poggi, who was Moore’s affiliate head coach, is filling in as interim head coach as Michigan prepares for the upcoming bowl sport.
McWhorter’s determination comes a day after tight finish Matt Ludwig was launched from his letter of intent to Michigan. Ludwig was the primary within the class of 27 signees to withdraw from his letter of intent.
