SEATTLE – Seattle Mariners Govt Vice President & Normal Supervisor of Baseball Operations Justin Hollander introduced at the moment the Mariners have signed catcher Andrew Knizner to a 1-year Main League contract by means of 2026.
The Mariners 40-man roster is now at 39 gamers.
Knizner (KIZZ-ner), 30, has appeared in elements of seven Main League seasons with St. Louis (2019-23), Texas (2024) and San Francisco (2025). In 33 video games with the Giants in 2025, he batted .221 (17×77) with 12 runs, 1 double, 1 triple, 1 residence run, 5 RBI and seven walks and didn’t enable a handed ball over 234.0 innings behind the plate.
The 6-foot-1, 225-pound catcher owns a profession .211 batting common (186×881) with 33 doubles, 1 triple, 19 residence runs, 90 RBI, 4 stolen bases and 70 walks, reaching base at a .281 clip with a .596 OPS over 323 Main League video games.
The Glen Allen, VA native was initially drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals within the 2016 MLB First-12 months Participant Draft out of North Carolina State College (Raleigh, NC). He made his Main League debut with the Cardinals on June 2, 2019. He signed as a free agent with the Texas Rangers on January 11, 2024 and was claimed off waivers from Texas by the Arizona Diamondbacks on Aug. 8, 2024. He signed as a minor league free agent with the Washington Nationals on January 17, 2025 and was launched on Could 17, 2025. He signed a minor league contract with the San Francisco Giants on Could 21, 2025 and was chosen on June 4, 2025.
