PULLMAN — It wouldn’t be a National Signing Day without surprises and Washington State certainly obliged on Wednesday, adding four previously unknown recruits to its 2026 signing class. All four have visited in the past couple of weeks, but their decisions were not known until WSU announced them on Wednesday via social media.
And all four are uniquely intriguing prospects for any number of reasons.
Starting with Benjamin Makelela, he defines “sheer, raw potential.” He’s 6-7, 280 pounds and has only been playing football for about two years. In fact, his story is usually one you find among basketball recruits.
