Demi Moore continues to be in deep grief in Landman season 2.

In the Dec. 7 episode of the Taylor Sheridan series, Moore’s Cami Miller, who was widowed in the season 1 finale when Monty (Jon Hamm) died, marked yet another heartbreaking milestone as she visited his grave.

She arrived at the cemetery, where Monty’s headstone had just been erected, on the day of the couple’s 30th wedding anniversary.

Speaking to her husband as she squatted in front of his grave, Cami said she’s “trying very hard not to be mad” at Monty.

“My therapist thinks I should write you a letter. Who knows? Maybe I will,” she said.

Then she displayed the gifts she brought for Monty — a cigar and a bottle of his favorite bourbon.

The cigar, she said, was his “favorite,” as she quipped, “Harder to get than I would have imagined — you didn’t mention they’re illegal.”

When she pulled out the bottle of bourbon, she poured it all around his grave. “You can have this again, but they have a rule that you can’t leave the bottle, so you’re gonna have to drink it all now.”

Cami revealed she received a gift of her own, as she admired a new, big diamond ring that she had found in Monty’s closet after his death — an anniversary present he didn’t get to give her.

“Oh, Monty, it’s our 30th anniversary,” Cami said, growing emotional. “I thought we’d have 20 more.”

Her emotional scene follows another gripping moment from last week, in which she broke down weeping over a framed photo of Monty from their wedding day. She sobbed in what was possibly the most emotionally intense scene of the Sheridan series so far.

Moore, 63, appeared in season 1 of the hit Paramount+ series as Hamm’s better half, but took on an expanded role in season 2 after his death.

She was admittedly “not entirely prepared” for what the role would entail this season, as she told TV Line, “I, at first, was really not entirely prepared for the grief part of it and just the depth of pain that I needed to touch into.

“I think in my mind, perhaps, before the scripts started to come in, I was thinking about the company part and what that was going to entail,” she said of Cami’s arc in season 2. “And I definitely had a lot of, not resistance, but maybe more fear about having to go to that place.”

Monty’s death also meant that Cami had to step up and run his oil company, MTex, with Tommy (Billy Bob Thornton) by her side. Co-creator Christian Wallace told The Hollywood Reporter that Cami is “swimming with the sharks” in season 2 “and they’re coming after her.”

“She’s been adjacent to this world for so long. Her and Monty were a really good couple, but she wasn’t the one having to make these decisions. Now she’s trying to find both her own authority while also trying to trust Tommy to help her navigate that.”
