At the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, framed her seven years in charge of the economy as a continuous test, from Covid and supply‑chain shocks to the Ukraine war, tariffs and global financial volatility. Sitharaman argued that despite these headwinds, India sustained growth, protected the vulnerable with targeted welfare, and used crises to push structural reforms in taxation, infrastructure, and digital public goods.
