Commanders Release Free Agent that Could Benefit Bengals as Season Wraps Up

The Cincinnati Bengals could have another interesting target available to them in free agency over the next few days, should Duke Tobin and Co. want to get active adding to the roster.

Over in the NFC, the Washington Commanders granted the release request of veteran safety Darnell Savage.

Savage, 28, is a former first-round pick who had ties to Bengals like defensive line coach Jerry Montgomery. But he’s now looking for his fourth team since entering the NFL in 2019.

The Bengals have an obvious disinterest in playing names on the depth chart behind Jordan Battle and Geno Stone. Guys like Tycen Anderson and even Daijahn Anthony haven’t been given much of a shot in an Al Golden defense all about trying out new things.
