Cason R. “Dick” Whitehurst, age 76, handed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at his residence in Ironton, surrounded by his household following a courageous battle with most cancers. He was born on August 1, 1949, in Norfolk, VA, the son of Richard Cason and Rosemary (Gardner) Whitehurst.
Dick’s household moved to Wonewoc when he was an toddler, and he lived within the Reedsburg and surrounding space most of his life. On October 18, 1969, Dick was united in marriage to Joan R. Jensen. This marriage was blessed with three kids, Patrick, Tressa and Cason (Casey).
He was a long-time member of St. Peter’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Reedsburg.
Dick was an outgoing one that was typically described because the lifetime of the get together and have become an instantaneous buddy to all who met him. His social calendar revolved round his household. He was a beautiful husband; a loyal father and he cherished his 11 grandchildren. He hardly ever missed any of their occasions. He was additionally an avid golfer and sports activities fan. Dick cherished life and lived it with pleasure and gratitude.
We mourn his passing as a result of we are going to miss him so, however we are going to cherish all the nice recollections. We rejoice that he’s in a greater place, freed from ache and struggling, in Heaven together with his Lord and Savior.
Dick is survived by his spouse of 56 years, Joan; kids: Patrick (Anna Peyton) Whitehurst of Minturn, CO, Tressa (Matthew) Bauer of Reedsburg, Cason “Casey” (Gretchen) Whitehurst of Wisconsin Dells; grandchildren: Elijah (Peyton) Bauer, Lydia Bauer, Isaiah Bauer, Isabel Bauer, Treyton Whitehurst, Clara Bauer, Cooper Whitehurst, Adelind Whitehurst, Evelyn Bauer, Emmaline Whitehurst and Savanna Whitehurst; brother, Donald (Rosanna Armson) Whitehurst of Minneapolis; sister, Alice (Gary) Antonetti of Evansville; many nieces, nephews together with different relations and buddies.
He was preceded in loss of life by his dad and mom.
A memorial service for Dick Whitehurst will probably be held on Friday, December 19, 2025, at 11 AM in St. Peter’s Ev. Lutheran Church, Reedsburg, with Pastor Paul Crolius officiating. Visitation will probably be held on Friday from 10:00 am till the time of the service on the church. Non-public household burial will happen in Resting Inexperienced Cemetery, Ironton.
The Farber Funeral Residence, Reedsburg, is helping the household with the preparations.
