Adult Swim’s beloved animated series Rick and Morty is set to leave Netflix very soon. While the show airs on Cartoon Network and streams on HBO Max shortly after in North America, other countries across the globe have access to the show via other streaming platforms like Netflix. Now, Rick and Morty will reportedly leave Netflix in multiple countries by the end of December 2025.
Rick and Morty won’t be streaming on Netflix much longer
Created by Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon, Rick and Morty will reportedly leave Netflix on December 30 and 31. The show will leave the Netflix library in Germany, Greece, India, Israel, Italy, Japan, Lithuania, South Africa, South Korea, and Turkey on December 30, and in the UK on December 31. Meanwhile, in Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Colombia, the Czech Republic, France, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Russia, and Switzerland, the show will still be available to stream on the platform.
In North America, Rick and Morty is part of the HBO Max and Hulu libraries, and will continue to stream there. Season 8 came out this year, with the first episode airing on May 25, 2025. As the show saw a renewal through Season 12 last year, Season 9 will come out sometime around the Fall of 2026. Future seasons will continue to air on Cartoon Network in North America, with the latest episodes becoming available to stream on HBO Max shortly after. This is due to Cartoon Network and HBO, both being part of Warner Bros. Discovery.
Earlier this year, Adult Swim also confirmed that there will also be a Rick and Morty spin-off series coming in the future, focusing on the show’s President Curtis, voiced by Keith David. In an Instagram post captioned, “Citizens of America, this is your President speaking…,” David took to social media to announce the project. “Citizens of America, your favorite Commander in Chief is here with a special announcement. Adult Swim has officially greenlit a brand new animated series called President Curtis, starring yours truly. We’re diving deep into Oval Office, but not the one you’re used to,” he shared in the video.
