Microsoft commits USD 17.5 billion funding in India to spice up AI infrastructure, abilities, and sovereign capabilities. Satya Nadella met PM Modi.

New Delhi, Dec 9 (PTI) Microsoft plans to take a position USD 17.5 billion (round Rs 1.58 lakh crore) in India to assist construct infrastructure, abilities, and sovereign capabilities wanted for the nation’s AI future, CEO Satya Nadella stated on social media platform X.

“To assist the nation’s ambitions, Microsoft is committing USD17.5B—our largest funding ever in Asia—to assist construct the infrastructure, abilities, and sovereign capabilities wanted for India’s AI-first future,” Nadella stated on X after assembly Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Microsoft, in a press release, stated the corporate plans to take a position USD 17.5 billion in India over the subsequent 4 years (2026-2029) to drive AI diffusion at a inhabitants scale.
