New York Times Takes Legal Action Against Perplexity AI

The New York Times (NYT) has filed a lawsuit against AI company Perplexity.

The lawsuit alleges that the AI company has illegally copied and distributed NYT’s ‘copyrighted content’. It states that Perplexity has unlawfully used NYT’s stories, videos and podcasts to formulate responses to user queries. 

This follows the Chicago Tribune, filing a copyright lawsuit against Perplexity earlier last week. 

NYT is already involved in another ongoing copyright suit against Microsoft and OpenAI. The publication claims that the companies used their content to train their AI models.
