FICCI was pleased to co-organise an engaging roundtable aimed at strengthening collaboration between India and Russia in the pharmaceuticals and healthcare sectors as part of the India–Russia Business Forum on December 5, 2025 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.
The discussions highlighted significant opportunities for deeper cooperation in the medical devices sector, including localisation, innovation, and integrated manufacturing.
The session, moderated by H.E. Sergey Glagolev, Deputy Minister of Healthcare of the Russian Federation, brought forward focused deliberations on expanding bilateral MedTech opportunities, driving regulatory alignment, and enhancing technology partnerships.
FICCI Medical Devices Committee, represented by Mr Himanshu Baid, Managing Director, Polymedicure Limited, and Mr Gurmit Singh Chugh, Chairman, Translumina Therapeutics, along with Mr Praveen Kumar Mittal, Executive Director, Export Promotion Council for Medical Devices (EPCMD), highlighted that India’s strengths in high-quality, affordable medical technologies supported by dedicated Medical Device Parks, advanced diagnostics capabilities, and a rapidly growing innovation ecosystem offer a strong foundation for joint development with Russia. Collaboration in Imaging, Nuclear medicine, Diagnostics, Cardiovascular devices and MedTech R&D were identified as key pathways for future engagement.
