A dense fog advisory for the metro Atlanta and north Georgia region is in effect until 10 a.m.
ATLANTA — A ground stop is in effect Sunday morning at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport due to low visibility amid foggy conditions, according to the FAA.
The FAA as of 8 a.m. lists a ground stop that went into effect at 7:30 a.m. and is currently scheduled to last until 9:45 a.m., with a medium (30-60%) probability of being extended.
The metro Atlanta and north Georgia region is in a dense fog advisory issued by the National Weather Service until 10 a.m.
“Aircraft departing from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International are being sprayed with deicing fluid to remove snow and ice,” the FAA also states.
Data from FlightAware as of 8 a.m. listed 64 delays into and out of Hartsfield-Jackson.

The dense fog across the region has visibility in many locations below 1/4 mile, the 11Alive Weather Impact Team reports.
