Proper-handed reliever Chase Lee is heading to the Toronto Blue Jays.
The Detroit Tigers traded Lee to the Blue Jays on Friday, Dec. 12, in alternate for left-handed reliever Johan Simon. The latest Tiger hasn’t pitched above the Double-A degree and wasn’t ranked amongst MLB Pipeline’s high 30 prospects within the Blue Jays’ group.
The commerce opened a spot on the Tigers’ 40-man roster.

In 2025, Lee posted a 4.10 ERA with 9 walks and 36 strikeouts throughout 37⅓ innings in 32 video games. The Tigers acquired Lee from the Texas Rangers on the 2024 commerce deadline within the Andrew Chafin commerce.
The Tigers’ 40-man roster is now at 38 gamers.
The 2 gamers who can be added to the 40-man roster: right-hander Drew Anderson and right-handed reliever Kyle Finnegan. Each gamers had been acquired lately, however the strikes have not been processed but: Anderson signed for one 12 months, $7 million; Finnegan signed for 2 years, $19 million.
