DRDO Unveils Seven Advanced Indigenous Defense Technologies

The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has taken a significant step towards enhancing India’s defense capabilities by handing over seven state-of-the-art technologies to the armed forces. These advancements were developed under the Technology Development Fund (TDF) scheme, emphasizing import substitution and technological innovation.

Among the delivered technologies are a long-life seawater battery system for underwater applications and an indigenous waterjet propulsion system for fast interceptor craft. According to the Defence Ministry, these innovations were rigorously tested by Indian industry experts in collaboration with DRDO.

The seven technologies were formally handed over during the Empowered Committee meeting at DRDO Bhawan, chaired by Samir V. Kamat. The committee approved 12 new projects, aligning with the nation’s vision of ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ by bolstering domestic capabilities in critical defense technologies.
